Can You Collect Vehicles With No Wheels?
Yes, in most cases. However, this may require specialist recovery equipment, so please mention it when requesting your quote to ensure we arrange the right vehicle for collection.
Do You Buy Alloy Wheels?
Yes. Vehicles with alloy wheels are accepted by many of our buyers for both scrap and salvage purposes.
I Don’t Have The Keys For My Car?
Yes. Many of our buyers can still collect and process vehicles without keys. Let us know upfront so we can factor this into your quote.
My Car Is Still At The Garage.
No problem at all. We can arrange collection from most locations including garages, as long as access is available for a recovery vehicle.
Can I Remove The Car Stereo?
Yes. Just make sure your vehicle details are updated to reflect any removed parts so your quote remains accurate.
I Have Taken Parts Off My Vehicle.
Removing parts may reduce the value of your vehicle, but it can still be scrapped or sold for salvage. Simply provide accurate details and we’ll find the best available offer.
What Is An OEM Catalytic Converter?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. It refers to parts made by the vehicle’s original manufacturer, which are typically higher quality than third-party replacements and can affect your vehicle’s value.
I Have A Vehicle That’s Not Registered In The UK, Can I Scrap It?
Yes. You may need to notify the relevant authority in the country where the vehicle is registered, but we can still help with the process.
What happens to my car after collection?
Your vehicle will either be fully recycled at an authorised facility or assessed for salvage, where usable parts are recovered and reused in other vehicles.
My Vehicle Still Has A Lot Of Fuel Left In It.
Not at all. Any remaining fuel is safely removed during the recycling process and will not affect your quote.
Does My Vehicle Need To Be Complete?
No. We accept vehicles in all conditions. Providing accurate details simply ensures you receive the correct quote.
What If I Miss Something When Describing My Vehicle?
Let us know as soon as possible. Any missing or incorrect details may affect your final quote, so it’s always best to flag them early.
Does My Car Need To Have A Valid Insurance Policy?
No. A valid insurance policy, tax, or MOT is not required for collection — our recovery partners handle everything.
Does My Car Need To Be Clean?
No, but please remove all personal belongings and rubbish before the collector arrives.
Does It Matter If I Do Not Have Any Service History?
No. Service history is not required, though it can occasionally be helpful when assessing salvage value.
I Want To Scrap My Car But Have Personalised Number Plates Which I Want To Keep.
Yes. You can keep your personalised plates, but they must be transferred or retained on a certificate before the vehicle is scrapped.
What Is An ATF?
An Authorised Treatment Facility is a government-licensed centre where vehicles are safely dismantled, depolluted, and recycled in line with UK environmental regulations.
What Is A COD?
A CoD is an official document confirming your vehicle has been legally scrapped and removed from DVLA records, removing any further legal responsibility from you.
What Is The Scrap Metal Dealers Act?
This legislation ensures all scrap metal transactions are fully traceable and secure. It also prohibits cash payments for scrap vehicles — always insist on payment by bank transfer.
How Long Does The Process Of Selling My Car Take?
In most cases, the entire process from quote to collection can be completed within 24 to 48 hours.
How do I send photos of my vehicle?
You can send photos by email, WhatsApp, or upload them during the quote process. Make sure images are clear and include your vehicle registration number.
I Don’t Have A Camera, What Can I Do?
A smartphone works perfectly. If you don’t have one, borrowing a device from a friend or family member is all you need.
What if I miss important information after submitting?
Let us know as soon as possible and we’ll update your quote accordingly.
Can I Scrap More Than One Vehicle At A Time?
Yes. We can arrange collection for multiple vehicles, including full fleet disposals.
Am I Entering A Contract By Selling My Car Through Scrap Car Now?
Yes. Once you accept a quote, a simple agreement is made to confirm the sale based on the details provided. This protects both you and the buyer throughout the process.
My Quote Expired But I Want To Accept.
Simply request a new quote. It only takes a few seconds and the price is often very similar.
The Vehicle Isn’t Registered To Me, Can I Still Scrap It?
can I still scrap it?
Yes, as long as you have permission from the registered owner and the correct supporting documentation.
What Does ‘Subject To Inspection’ Mean?
It means the final price at collection is based on the vehicle matching the description you provided during the quote process. As long as your details are accurate, there’s nothing to worry about.
My Car Has Added Extras, Will It Affect My Quote?
In most cases, extras don’t significantly affect scrap value, but they may increase value if the car is sold for salvage.
Why Do You Need My Number / Email Address?
We use your contact details solely to send your quote and arrange collection. Your information is only shared with a buyer once you have accepted an offer.
Why Do You Need My Postcode To Run A Quote?
Your postcode helps us identify the closest buyers in your area and compare their offers to get you the most competitive price available.
How Often Will You Contact Me?
Only when it’s relevant to your quote or collection. If you decide not to proceed, we won’t continue to contact you.
